Growing With Freya: Choosing a Gentle Beginning to Motherhood

Becoming a mother has a way of slowing everything down.

When Freya was born, I realized how quickly the world expects us to move on. To “bounce back,” to follow timelines, to make the right choices without ever pausing to listen inward. But from the very beginning, I felt called to do things differently. More gently. More intentionally.

This blog was born from that feeling.

Growing With Freya is not about perfection or rigid rules. It’s about learning alongside my daughter paying attention, staying present, and choosing a path that feels aligned with our family’s values, rhythms, and intuition.

As a first-time mom, I’m navigating things day by day: slowing down in the newborn phase, tuning into Freya’s cues, and exploring a more natural and conscious approach to motherhood. Along the way, I’ve found myself drawn to practices that prioritize connection. Cloth diapering, early communication, holistic living, and honoring babies as capable, communicative little humans from the very start.

I don’t have all the answers, and I don’t pretend to. What I do have is a desire to share honestly, without pressure or judgment, what this season of life is teaching me.

This space is for:

mothers who want to trust their instincts parents curious about gentler ways of raising children anyone who feels overwhelmed by the noise and wants to return to something simpler

If you’re here, I hope you feel welcomed and intrigued, not corrected, not convinced, just supported.

This is the beginning of our story.

And I’m so glad you’re here to grow with us.

❤ Freya’s Mommy.

Thank you for sharing this. I really appreciate how gently and honestly you describe the beginning of motherhood — the presence, the pacing, and the deep tenderness in your words. Beautifully expressed.
